Stepping Stones Learning Center Reviews

Excellent School

By , a Parent on

Excellent, excellent, excellent. My son Aditya loves to come to school everyday and the learning/caring is amazing. This really is stepping stones for his future. I am sad they don't have a branch near our new place, but I recommend and will be back if need at anytime.

I recently brought my son to his Kindergarten assessment at the public school and the 1st thing the teacher asked me was what school he went to!  I Immediately told her Stepping Stones!  She was so impressed at how much he knew and how smart he was. She will definitely pass along the recommendation.  Miss Gail was wonderful and Miss Latifah is amazing!  I highly recommend this family oriented and affordable school to anyone!

My kids Joel aged 5 and Jane 3 started coming here in Stepping Stones when they were 3 and 1 yrs old. They love going to the school. My son in Ms. Latifah's class, and daughter in Ms.Gail's class; enjoys all activities done over there. They get turns in being the line leader, mail box leader, calendar leader which builds their leadership and interaction skills. Ms Latifah spends extra time for kids to help them if they are weak in Math or reading skills. They also have 'Show and Tell' every Friday that helps kids to explore new things.

The kindergarten curriculum is well advanced. My kids love all the project works, writing journals, paintings, summer trips, library books, movies, doing homework. Of all the day cares I have sent my kids to, I like Stepping Stones the most. It's neat and clean and well-maintained. Ms. Amy, Ms.Jenna, Ms.Brook, Ms.Brittany and above all Ms.Janice, the director is great with kids and help them in building their skills.

It was Taran's first day care. The staff is excellent they took really good care of him. When we leave him in the mornings he used to go and hug 'Ms.Brook' and say bye to us...! that's really amazing. Ms.Fatima is a well experienced teacher, they train kids as per their pace self feeding, activities, etc. The staff feel responsible for our kids, they are ready to help and always happy to update us even with small items(he ate his fruits, slept for an hour, etc). I am fully happy to have my son joined at Stepping Stones. Special thanks to Ms.Janice, she is very accommodating and understands from a parents view point. Good work keep going Steeping Stones.

Very friendly director Ms Janice & the Teachers. My son started going to stepping stones since he was 11 months old. He is now 4 years old. As I see him progress to different classrooms, I have noticed how wonderful the staff was in accommodating all our needs and making it an enjoyable experience. I strongly recommend stepping stones learning center.

Look no further. I was in your shoes. Busy and looking for top quality child care but scared to leave my son anywhere because of all the stories that are out in the media. Never before leaving my son in a childcare center had left me feeling nervous inside but now I had to make that step. I was a first time mother and I needed to work as well as I needed to get errands done and attend medical appointments. This was becoming more challenging and difficult to do with my child clinging to my side and all the undivided attention that it requires. I also wanted my son to socialize with children his own age as he is an only child. I did a lot of searching, facility visits, and analysis and as a busy mom I just want to save you precious time. Stop looking any further than this very caring, loving, high quality, just like home feel facility. He adjusted to his new environment before the week ended and learned quickly that I was going to return to pick him up. My nervousness went away completely with all the support I was given making his transition from home to “school” as I called it.
A few examples of the quality of this learning center that I can provide was the difficulty that I was having with potty training my son on my own. He was attached to wearing diapers and not wanting anything to do with wearing big boy underwear. Well, he was attending here for less than 3 months and with support from the director, the staff, and me training him at home with their tips…YAHOO… he was successfully trained. I got so much support and understanding. I was thrilled that I did not have to buy anymore diapers and in fact I was able to return a box back to the store. My fear of having the only kindergartener wearing diapers was erased.
During his initial months in Ms. Gails room, my son renamed her the “dancing machine”. She is kind, funny, and loves helping the kids learn and explore. The songs he would learn to sing would come out just at the time he was supposed to go to sleep at night. He was becoming not only a dancing machine but a singing machine. He was changing and growing and became so much more imaginative, creative, and intelligent. He learned the months of the year, the days of the week, alphabet sounds and now counts to 100. Working on writing his name and the alphabet was challenging for him and extra support and homework to practice his writing were given. In addition, the art projects helped him to further develop his fine motor skills and became great conversation pieces. His ability to learn to share, to work as a team, to listen, and to further develop his verbal skills and reading comprehension were phenomenal. When he was misbehaving as children do at times, time outs were used and it was made into a learning experience. The children get out their enormous energy with physical activity outside twice a day in a large, fenced in play area. In the rain or in the winter season when it is too cold, they get physical activity inside the “big room”.
During the summer program, my son went on his first of many planned field trips on a school bus with plenty of supervision and experienced lots of fun activities. He was scared and reluctant to go on his first trip but when he returned he wanted to know when the next field trip would be. He told me so many stories about these class trips.
The following school year, he transitioned into the Pre-K classroom with Ms. Latifah. She is very focused on preparing children for kindergarten and my son can now count by fives and by tens to 100 and can recognize sight words in addition to reinforcing previously learned skills. He has learned more about health, nutrition, nature, weather, animals and different occupations as -well as the weather and is able to do basic math and reading now. Show and Tell Fridays is a big favorite of his to do each week. He is doing all this and still many months away from being 5 years old. I know that I did not have those skills when I was that age or when I was in kindergarten. I am so proud of how much my son has developed in all areas.
In addition, I got to know the owners, the director, as well as the teachers and their assistants in all the rooms and my son did as well. They are all dedicated to helping the children learn, be creative, and have fun. The facility is kept clean, bright, festive, and secured.  Parents are kept informed with monthly newsletters, free monthly parent magazines, and daily sheets are given to bring home with their daily activities and nutrition intake. The children are always greeted and when it is time for my son to go home ……well you can probably guess it………yes he did not want to leave.
I know this is a long review but it is worth my time to do this because it is important to find a place that your heart can feel at ease. As a registered nurse, Stepping Stones Learning Center has been just the perfect fit. Nearly 2 years later, I do not regret my decision. Children are learning and excelling with the structure and curriculum while proper care and supervision are being given.  I highly recommend you not only to arrange a visit but to enroll.

I wanted to write this review to extend my gratitude. I spent almost 2 months shopping day care centers for my daughter, and we had such a great experience with Steppingstones. When we stepped in…  we immediately knew it was the right place for our daughter. I have really enjoyed the experiences I have had with Stepping Stones since my daughter started attending over four months ago. Kruthika loves going to school and speaks highly of his teachers, Ms. Julie and Ms. Hameeda and Ms. Janice. Even on mornings when Kruthika is feeling sad about leaving his mommy or daddy, Ms. Julie always holds her and consoles her while we leave. It is so nice to know that my child is in a safe, supportive, caring environment with teachers who are sensitive to her needs. It puts my mind at ease and I just wanted to thank all of you for all your hard work and dedication.
Stepping Stones took care of all our needs. It’s the best.
I also wanted to share few things here to the parents who are looking for a daycare that really cares for your children. Please just step in at Stepping Stones and do talk to few teachers and you will come to know. Why STEPPING STONES……
Please don’t judge the daycare by the corporate name… there is nothing in it. My daughter used to go to Goddard, and she hated it… She loves it here.
Parents…….., Do you know one more secret, I am paying 33% less than I used to pay at Goddard School. Good deal…. Right…….

And last, Thanks to Peter and Janice for maintaining this wonderful Daycare.... called... STEPPING STONES LEARNING CENTER.......

You Guys are.. awesome....
