About This School
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. Amy Biehl Charter High School Reviews
My child is starting her second year at Amy Biehl High School. Leaving the public school she was attending before was the best choice we made. We left the drama and the bullying behind. This school has made her blossom and gain confidence. Both kids and teachers are there because they want to be there and it shows in their attitudes and how they treat each other. We love this school.
I went to La Cueva High School before transferring to ABHS and it was life changing for me. The class sizes were smaller, the curriculum was humanities based and the students and teachers both found joy in pursuing the coarse of a scholar. If I hadn't found ABHS I probably would have dropped out of high school. In attending ABHS I have made a progress that I never expected; moving from D's and F's to A's and B's, and next semester I will be attending St. Johns college of Santa Fe. ABHS taught me how to read deeply, write and revise deeply, and think deeply. I entered ABHS lost and I have left as a well rounded scholar. The faculty that teaches their are amazing both in their love of teaching and their desire to help you succeed.
