Osuna Elementary School Reviews
Osuna is nice -- my kid is in 5 grade now and she loves the school.
First of all his school is bad about informing you that your child is hurt. However, they are good at punishing them for being late. We were also told by the principal that our child would be in detention untill we filled out a green form, so the school could collect extra money. By the way the form was suppose to be voluntary. Best of all we were also informed not to have lunch with our child that it would be hasardous to their learning. Later we were told by the teacher to stop giving hugs when dropping them off, that this conflicts with how other children look that them. Please look at other schools, no child or parent should ever have to go through this.
My son is in kindergarten and the class size is good, 19 kids. He has an experienced teacher and the parents are very involved.
If you have an alternative school to send your child other then Osuna Elementary. I recommend the alternative. This school has been nothing but a great deal of trouble for my family and I. I have two children that attend this school and if I could put them somewhere else, I would! This school is nothing but a popularity contest between the school's faculty. They are very rude to parents that they do not know personally and they dont give a darn about the students. I have personally seen teachers yell at students until they start CRYING and send them to stand at a buildings wall. For students that arrive to school seconds late are sent to what is called "Tiger Tune-up" where the children have to write sentences over and over such as: Dear me, I will not be late, I will not be late. for a full session of recess. If students do not return books on time, which I know its important to do so I just dont believe students should have to miss their recess to write sentences like "My name is _____ and I will bring my book back to school tomorrow" - over and over. My child did this for 4 days with out my knowning. I was not imformed until the 4th day, not by the teacher by my child that brought that the written sentences home. Thats ONE expample of how little teacher/parent communication there is. No matter how many complaints are made this school will never change because the principle will do nothing as I said before, This school is just one big popularity contest and the students needs are definately not put first!
