The schools building layout and configuration is average and a bit confusing to navigate. They have separate playgrounds, one for 4th graders and the other for 5th graders. There are tennis courts which is different for an elementary school. The buildings are clean and well kept, but a bit sterile and can feel like walking in hospital hallways with no plant life or vegitation present. The outside of the school is also void of much needed vegitation, this is probably due to budget however. The staff is average professional but so far my encounters have been with polite and mostly friendly people. My son's teacher this year is wonderful. Sending out emails at the beginning of each week informing parents of all of the homework for the week and the weeks spelling words, making it impossible for my son to lie to me about it. I'm not sure if all the teachers there do this but his does which is a plus. Over all the school is just average and one of the only two options for 4th and 5th graders in Aztec, unless you are drawn out to get into the charter school Mosaic.
