The New York State Assessments are annual tests used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards. The tests are also used to evaluate schools and determine each school's accountability status.

The curriculum is so delayed that my child could have gotten 100s if he had missed the entire previous school year. Kids are taught 2nd grade material in 3rd and sometimes 4th grade. By high school, the kids are so delayed that they fail regents and get scores below 3 on the APs. Loads of courses -but a student can have straight As and still fail regents and APs because it takes very little learning to get 100s.
