About This School

Our philosophy revolves around the idea that every child deserves a chance to get the best start in life possible.  The first five years of life are critical to a child’s development and lifetime success.  These early childhood years are windows of opportunity for optimal learning to take place.  This is not to say that we cannot continue to learn for the rest of our lives, but that there are certain times in our life when learning is easier.  A great example lies in the linguistic diversity phenomenon.  A child under the age of five who is exposed to a second or even third language can usually speak all languages fluently without an accent.  This is where we strongly believe that proper stimulation for young children contributes to the structure and capacity of the brain that lasts a lifetime.

At BedRock Preschool, we understand the importance of early learning as a preparation to develop the makeup of the “whole child.”  Focusing on all areas of development, such as physical, social, emotional, and cognitive ensure for future success.  Giving children advantages in these areas at an early age gives them a firmer foundation to build upon.  We believe a child’s creation and exploration can only be fully developed in the safety of a nurturing environment.  Our teachers recognize that children learn best when they experience the world firsthand utilizing all of their senses to participate in learning.  Our students form lasting bonds with their teachers and parents develop a strong sense of partnership with the school.

BedRock Preschool Reviews

Our daugther has been at Bedrock since she was an infant. Going back to work was hard like it would be for any parent.  Bedrock teachers were wonderful in helping us feel reassured and secure that our daugther was content, growing and well cared for in our absence.  She is now over a year old and she has just continued to thrive at Bedrock. The teachers are very caring and Ms. Libby the Educational Director is responsive, easy to talk with about any concerns, and always a solid presence in all the classrooms.  We are happy with the care at Bedrock.

My daughter started at BedRock when she was 17  months. As any other parent, we were concerned about her reaction and adjustment process. The staff was excellent at assisting with this transition. She adjusted quickly and is very happy. I am amazed at how much they are able to teach the toddlers and how much the kids enjoy learning. I am also happy with the amount of activities the school has coordinated to give parents the opportunity to meet and interact with the staff. I am happy with the care and would recommend to anyone. and of course the facilities are state of the art.

My son has developed so much since being at Bedrock, particularly with his social, language, and numeracy skills.   The environment is first class and the staff are excellent.  I would definitely recommend Bedrock Preschool to any parent.

My two year old son has only been cared for by myself (teacher), my husband and my mother (former teacher) before he started attending BedRock last September. I may be called an over protective mother by many including my husband so one can imagine what my criteria was when I looked for a preschool for my son, and I looked! It was time for my son to be in a more social setting but I had great doubts that anyone can understand and provide him situations and challenges that made him truly happy and comfortable as well as increase value in his learning process.
When he started at BedRock in September, I cried at first and forced myself to accept that someone else will feed and change him. How much comfort and love could they provide? I kept thinking. He cried when I left him in the morning. Many know how heartbreaking this is. BedRock helped me tremendously in this very difficult transition time. Still, I doubted my decision, not because of the school but rather the fact he is not used to strangers caring for him. That lasted for about a week. I expected a month of this. Within two weeks I stared to see a bigger improvement. At first I could not picture him being happy with someone else, but with the school's open door policy, I peaked in, without him seeing me, several times and he was LAUGHING. So soon, I thought to myself, amazing. I also saw how focused he was when the teacher was reading a book to his whole group. I started to see him pointing at different shapes and calling out their names, but more importantly, doing so while smiling. That means he is happy with others. I saw and heard all this without him noticing me (they have fantastic peak in windows). Within a month he was sitting down on a chair (they have different size custom made chairs and tables in each room according to the size of the children). He was sitting and eating "with a fork" his lunch without making any mess by his own choice not by strapping him in a high chair as I had to do at home at that age. I could not believe my eyes. Oat meal? Never at home and he was asking for seconds at BedRock. Soon after, he started to sing the alphabet song. This is before he was two. So being a teacher I didn't value when children can recite something without understanding. Children memorize easily but it is important to TEACH and help them know what those sounds are. This is why I am happy that with reciting the song he, at the same time, was recognizing almost all the letters. He did the same for shapes and numbers to 20. Soon after, he started talking with full sentences with correct grammar, again before he was two. For example, he says: “This is my hat. This is Daddy's hat”, not Daddy hat. “One car, two cars”.
At BedRock communication between me and teachers as well as the director is incredibly easy and fulfilling. I ask for certain things that are a little overboard according to some, Sometimes, I am surprised how well they remember some conversations I have with them and how well they follow through.
Bedrock also offers a variety of enrichment programs (included in the tuition) that my son benefited from. He has been saying AND understanding many Spanish and Mandarin words. He can now sing a full version of many songs. He loves and plays his guitar every day after his music teacher at Bedrock, with his guitar, inspired him.
“Downward dog” my son says and does when I ask him about Yoga class at school.
There are many more things about Bedrock that keeps making me happy about my decision including 1. The director puts her heart and soul in making sure every child is realizing their 100% potential and is happy. 2. Safe, very clean, fun, and bright. 3. Amazing programs and curriculum. 4. Most of all, absolutely incredible teachers.
