I love this school. My daughter attends the Readiness program and now is graduating. Knowing that the program is just for preschoolers has me in pain. I wish it would go till high school (I know I would be very happy and i believe all parents would agree with me) !!
This school is awesome! If you have a child who is blind or visually impaired this is the school for them. They will receive in house related services to help them advance in school. Also they have dorms on campus. If they determine that living on campus is beneficial to the child's social and academic improvement, they will allow them to live in the dorms on campus.

If I can tell any parent of a child with vision issues, who is struggling at a reg. ed. school, please check out NYI, you will not be sorry. Thanks NYI for everything.
My son was enrolled in September of 2010 and he loves it. He has had a such a big turnaround. He seems to be more grounded. I have spoken with parents who say their children are still on that steady road to greatness, thanks to New York Institute.
