Josué: Let me just say that when I started to go to Bushwick Leaders' High School for Academic Excellence or BLHS for short, I had an interesting 4 years. I watched my High School grow and change. My class were the 2nd graduates to graduate from this school and I am proud to say that. Class of 2008!

My experience the 1st year was daunting. But as the 2nd year came by I decided to make a change. New teachers came in and we were told we were moving to another building. Upgrading from small to BIG.

We relocated to where the school is now, 797 BUSHWICK AVENUE.

Being at BLHS made me feel like I had a second home. In my experience I enjoyed the teachers and the work we had to do. Every single teacher there, that I have meet and gotten to know was dedicated into teaching us. They wanted us to have a proper education, but also have fun. And that to me is learning. Having fun while acquiring the knowledge.

The staff/faculty was there for you when you needed them. What ever problem you had they were there to support...give a helping hand.
The Homework, essays and quizzes and tests, were easy, some of them and some were a little bit difficult. But I didn't mind. I felt like they were pushing us to do great. Which is a good thing. They believed in me and in others.

When my time came to graduate on June, 2008. I was in shock! There was a part of me that didn't want to leave my school. My teachers. My memories, both good and bad. But I had to move on, and I have. It's been 2 years since I visited the school. I think it's time for me to stop by again. I'm 22 now, and I'm off in college accomplishing my goals and dreams. Thank you BLHS...for everything!
