I am aware that classes are large and students are not easy to work with in this day and age. However, I cannot understand that if a student has not attended classes for a term that the respective teacher does not bring this to the attention of his or her senior and attempt to find out why the individual has not attend.
This I seeing as a failing on the teachers side that if one does not attend one or two times, but for a whole term is worrying that the respective teacher is not concerned enough about an individual student. This means this student is behind in that specific subject and now does not have the confidence to attend the class that is needed to carry him/her through life to have a command of English, writing, speaking, comprehension, reasoning etc.
These types of situations need to be remedied.

What is it?
The New York State Regents Examinations are a series of subject specific tests that measure a student's level of proficiency in each of the subject areas tested.
Which Grades and Subjects?
High school students must pass at least five tests in the following subjects: English language arts, math, global history and geography, US history and government, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics and foreign language.
How is it Scored?
Every New York high school student must pass (score a 65 or above) at least five Regents examinations to receive a high school diploma. The goal is for all students to pass the tests.
