Ken Grabowski: OK school.  At the time, it was thought to be superior to public school but that was not so the case.  I found that my friends who went to public school (PS 17) were much better prepared for high school.  St. Vincents had  too much emphasis on religious studies and not enough  math and science.  Also,  most of the nuns were borderline mental cases. In the 50's when I attended there was no such thing as Special Ed or Learning Disabled children.  This included both public and private schools.  If you had these problems you were simply considered "dumb". Of course, that was in the 50's so I'm sure it has changed.  Hope so.
