Townsend Harris High School Reviews
I do not disagree when people say that this school is the best of the best; being the best, doesn't always mean being the best at everything. While this school rises way above others academically, it falls behind in many other ways. As a student, i find that the school is very disorganized. I made one mistake by handing in a slip to the homeroom teacher, and it got lost. Guidance sent me on a wild goose chase, up and down the 6 floors of THHS, to find my paper. I had no luck. Besides being disorganized, the teachers aren't very caring. There are a few enthusiastic ones, but most seem to come into the classroom and not care whether the students learn or not. Also, the workload is extremely overwhelming and unnecessary. I don't understand how loading students up with homework that they don't understand helps in any way. It also seems like no one in the school cares. I've seen so many students get lost and walk around for long periods of time trying to find their classroom, and, no passing teachers wanted to help. It's unbelievable! Overall, I know for a fact that THHS is an amazing academic school, but it's also a stressful, unwelcoming, and uncaring environment. I wouldn't suggest sending your child to this school unless he/she doesn't mind anything listed above.
This school is the best of the best, and had students that are the cream of the crop. THHS reaches the pinnacle of education!
