IS 119 The Glendale Middle School Reviews

This school is mediocre.

By a Current Student on

This school is good if you don't count the biased teachers, 8th graders bullying people, etc. Some teachers support what you do, and some criticize you for everything you do.

This school is wonderful!

Im a 7th grader at this school and it's an amazing school. The teachers help you do your best and they are always available to talk to. If you aren't feeling good, you can go to the nurse without question. The teachers teach about 3-6 classes, depending on the subject. They do their best to accommodate the students and the parents. The website is a great source for both parents and students as homework is posted there daily with announcements for them. It's a great way to keep track of your school. The staff are nice and the students are great. There aren't any bullies, although this year's 6th graders are very rude to the K, 1, 2 and 3rd grades. This school eventually becomes a full K-8 school as the elementary kids grow up. The school has great ways for this school to work, even though it changes the schedule for the middle school kids. This year, they started something called morning meeting and afternoon meeting, where kids from multiple classes are assigned to a teacher and they meet there , get to know each other and do activities. The teachers are really nice and helpful. I strongly recommend that you consider this school, as it has 4 Gifted and Talented classes in each grade, 1 Honors class, and 4 General Ed Classes, and 1 Special Ed class per grade. This school is amazing and you grow attached with your fellow classmates, since Physical Education classes are held with 3 classes at a time as well. Please consider this amazing school!!

A very good and acceptable school definitely attend this school

This school is very good except for the fact that you only have 3 minutes to get to class. That might be a lot but there is and old building and a new and classes are spread between them the minute the bell rings every kid is in the hallways unless you have a double period and it's always a jam and you end up getting late. But academic wise this school is brilliant the teachers are very helpful and act interested in what they're doing the hardly yell unless you really deserve it. The only complaint I have is that a lot of the kids curse out loud and the teachers don't say much I'm only saying that because there's young students such as k,1,2 kids But this school definitely is amazing and if you get the chance to attend this school take the chance you won't regret it if you want a bright future my only academically complaint is the fact that they give a bunch of homework and it kind of puts tension on people and there's tests every week in about every subject but they want to make sure the stuff they're talking about sinks in your head besides those small complaints this school is no less than perfect

The school is horrible, when I was here the class I was in (was a honors class) did not even reflect it at all. Although the teachers were nice to me, almost three quarters of the class was immature and rude. Also, there are a lot of thiefs and bullies in here.

This school is WAY TOO STRICT, and the teachers arent friendly to you. Only if your an honors student of course. Very disrespectful.

The priniciple IS NOT the dean. It`s actually a really good school, plus band, drama, vocal, a  yearly a lego leage. The reason some classes don`t recive HW is because they FINISH LESSONS IN CLASS!! ~2011

This is my daughters second year and I think that this year is really bad. She comes home with no home work I emailed the teacher's like 3 times and no respond I called left messages and nothing. This year not happy at all.

I believe that the Principal doesn't know how to control her students!  I believe these "students" are incapable of leading any lives in their futures.  They should not bother to attend any further schooling. They should instead enroll into a zoo. In all the reviews I have read regarding IS 119, not one of the students write correctly.  Passing by this school when these "students" leaving school just show how sad the future is.  God help them...

i think this school is an excellent school but it has its ups and downs it has wonderful teachers and some wonderful students i think that they need to get better substitutes who can actully speak English
