A New Dawn Elementary School Reviews

I would agree with the reviewer who states that this school offers sub par education. This school has first graders who can't read or do basic addition. What foundation are you setting when school aged kids who should be reading to learn, haven't learned to read?

This is an excellent Private School with a simple history of one woman's vision to help a community. The founder of the school Ms. Joy McLaughlin wanted to make a difference in the lives of children. She started this school with her own money and gives a lot to the community. If everyone
gave as much to other people's children as miss Joy has given to over 1000 children since the school started we would have a much brighter future for our children.  Well done Ms. Joy thank you for all your help with our children May God continue to bless you and guide you in your work.

This school was much better 8 years ago then it is now. I wish Ms. Joy would keep up with the times in education. The lack of staff and resources for the children is a little unsettling. My son attended K-3rd grade in this school and i loved it. My cousin put her daughter in the school and i am so sorry for all the disappointment she had to deal with because of my recommendation. I really hope the school finds its knack for higher learning again.

Dear Ms. Joy, thank you again for your encouragement with Lloyd and Beryl.  Lloyd, through your guidance is now a well respected young man.  He is now excelling as a Junior in High School.  He has grown into a refined young man.  Beryl attended your summer programs in which she honed her reading skills.  When Beryl first came to you, she was shy and withdrawn.  You would never believe her now to be a well rounded and focused young lady.  She is confident and tries to do her ultimate best.  I owe that to your continued commitment to our children.   The family applauds New Dawn Elementary School through your leadership for the fine work you did with Lloyd and Beryl.  God bless you and your staff.  You are doing a wonderful service.
Yours truly,
Beryl Roberts

To Ms. Joy McLaughlin, Thank you for being the basis of my children's educational development. Two of my children were enrolled through their formative years in A New Dawn. The personal attention, quality education and discipline as well as the well rounded and caring teachers that my children encountered at A New Dawn have enabled them to become well rounded young men. The discipline of hard work that was instilled early in their years caused them to make easy transitions, both are honor students. They have a love for music that was introduced to them while students at A New Dawn. I cannot "Thank You" enough for the love and care that you provided my sons over the years. Continue to influence the boys and girls of our community. They need more schools and Principals like you who care about the full development of the student. God Bless! Faye

Please do NOT send your child to this school.  There are no teacher's books.  There are workbooks that do not have any curriculum established to them.  The students are all ages in the same room.  They are babysitting, not teaching.  It's definitely not a well put together learning environment.  There are holes in the walls, illegal placed lockers, etc.
