St Peter's Regional SchoolMy child also attends St. Peters and will be returning in 2011. I must say this school is great. Academically, no other school in sullivan county can compare. I have spoken to many parents who have sent their children here after attending other local schools and say their children have improved dramatically.
The Principlal is great and really cares for her students. The teachers handle their children with the utmost respect and professionialism. Students are treated fairly and are not reprimanded any differently than when I went to school. Im so sorry to hear that children who misbehave have to dine alone, keeping them away from others who do behave. Give me a break whoever you are. If you want children who misbehave in class with your child, distracting their learning go to public school where children curse fight and disrespect others with no consequences. Part of a great school is being able to control the children who distract and bother other children. If your child was one of the children who had to dine alone ,well behavior should be taught at home and if you cant control you child.....oh well. Also, I am not part of the PTSO and was able to chaperone field trips whenever I asked. So I dont know what this person is talking about.
In regards to the Award's Assembly, children should be awarded for their hard work. If you work really hard you recieve multiple awards and if you dont work hard, well I guess you dont get any. You should encourage your child to work harder. If you pulled your child out because he or she did not recieve an award I guess you are teaching your child to give up. I am paying tuition so my child can compete in a world that demands confidence, hard work and discipline. There are so many positives about this school I can write another page. Is there room for improvement? Absolutely, but I have yet to hear of an educational institution that is perfect. Still, I believe that St. Peter's is an excellent school for my child's academic and social development. Children need to be steered in the right direction from an early age,and if you want you child to excell in their future send them to St. Peters.
Money well spent!

St Peter's Regional School I sent my child to St. Peter's last year, and am choosing not to send him back this year. The school is fine, academically, and the after-school clubs, great. While the Principal is kind and patient, some of the teachers and other staff are not. Students are often criticized and reprimanded in front of others, and students are punished for little things, while others (doing the same thing) are not. When students misbehave too many times in a given week, they are made to "dine alone"at lunch time, in the cafeteria, at a table all by themselves, away from all of the other students.
Students who have attended the school since Pre-K, and students whose parents volunteer at the school on a regular basis, are favored over other students, and only parents who are on the PTSO are allowed to chaperone field trips. At the end of the school year, the school holds an "Awards" ceremony, where certain students receive multiple awards, while others do not receive any.
Don't waste your money.
