This school is not what I expected. For a specialized school I had very high hopes. My child went into that school with over a 90 average and now hates going to school. If you are in advanced classes the teachers resent teaching a freshmen in a sophmore class or a Sophmore in a junior class. I hae to force my child to go to school now. I can't wait to get out of this school. I have reached out to administration several times and nothing has changed. As a parent I would not recommend this school at all!

I was just accepted into Laguardia, and I am very excited to go next year! I think that Laguardia is actually the best performing Arts High School in NYC. Probably the best high school in NYC. It takes talent and brains to be accepted.

LaGuardia is a horrible school once you hit junior year. There is an obvious difference between the grades, for example, in level of happiness. As a junior, I'm miserable, and plenty of others are too. As a freshman, I was very happy, but all that soon changed. It's not consistent. It overworks you, especially if you're in a lot of honors and APs, and I mean academically. The secret is: it's NOT really an art school. Actually, everyone involved knows this. We have tons more academic classes and requirements than arts. It is like a prison.

I love Laguardia, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. The students are really talented, if you go to one of their concerts, you can see how spectacular they are. Everyone's friendly and welcoming, and I love going there and having a good time. They also give you a good education academically.

What is it?
The New York State Regents Examinations are a series of subject specific tests that measure a student's level of proficiency in each of the subject areas tested.
Which Grades and Subjects?
High school students must pass at least five tests in the following subjects: English language arts, math, global history and geography, US history and government, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics and foreign language.
How is it Scored?
Every New York high school student must pass (score a 65 or above) at least five Regents examinations to receive a high school diploma. The goal is for all students to pass the tests.
