daniel ford: all i have to say is that people can say that this school has changed but i have come back to visit my school and i have seen worse things happening since i left. the school's drug problem has worsened i have seen new 6th graders smoking marijuana on the main staircase i saw that this school is as bad as it was before. parents i heed you not to send your children to this school. keep them away from bad influences like this.

is a good school because many people immigrant like me from Senegal, Yemen and speak different languages. and when they finish there they speak English good

What is it?
The New York State Assessments are annual tests used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards. The tests are also used to evaluate schools and determine each school's accountability status.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students in grades 3 through 8 are assessed in English language arts and math, in grades 4 and 8 in science, and in grades 5 and 8 in social studies.

Students receive a score of level 1 through level 4. The goal is for 90% of students to score at or above level 3, the level of proficiency.

The New York State Regents Examinations are a series of subject specific tests that measure a student's level of proficiency in each of the subject areas tested.
Which Grades and Subjects?
High school students must pass at least five tests in the following subjects: English language arts, math, global history and geography, US history and government, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics and foreign language.
How is it Scored?
Every New York high school student must pass (score a 65 or above) at least five Regents examinations to receive a high school diploma. The goal is for all students to pass the tests.
