PS 102 Jacques Cartier School Reviews
a great place to call home
I am a new teacher at PS 102 this year and seldom have I seen such dedication and commitment to teaching as among this staff. The newly developing Gifted and Talented program is the most diverse I have seen anywhere and the new principal is a man of integrity and vision. This small gem in East Harlem is just waiting to be discovered. I am lucky to have found such a great place to call home.
I attended PS102 way back during World War 2.
My family and I lived right around the corner on East 114th Street.
What wonderful memories I still have of the school.
Some of those dear teachers made such an impact on my life: Miss Lumina, Miss Kent, Miss Carey, Miss Lancaster ( Burt's sister)
From PS 102, I went on to James Otis Jr. High which was located at Benjamin Franklin High School and from there I went on to four years at Peekskill Military Academy. My family and I were members of the Jefferson Park Methodist Church on 114th Street and Fiirst Ave. which was right across the street from the park. If there are any former students from that time, feel free to contact me.
