PS 134 Henrietta Szold School Reviews
I think there needs to be a school-wide behavior management system throughout the entire school. Behavior discipline as well as social and emotional needs are not top concerns in this school. Fire drills, lunch/recess and dismissal routines are extremely disorganized. The lower grades are discouraged from learning through multi-sensory techniques, hands-on experiences and a a project-based curriculum. The children in the lower grades are being pushed to do assignments and tasks that are developmentally inappropriate for young learners. If you want your kindergarten or pre-kindergarten child to play through authentic learning experiences, then this is not the school for you.
I love PS 134 Henrietta Szoid School. My daughters were accepted in this school and one of them passed the NYS test for gifted program and sadly had to leave that wonderful school because it does not support this type of program, but one of my daughters is still there, loving it and doing great in third grade.
I came across this school that was recommended to me by a neighbor and then funny enough a year before enrolling my two daughters I met in the nearby playground one of the teachers without at the time knowing that I would send my children there...I cannot wait for my son to start going there as well!!2 more years !!
They have a wonderful principal whose approach to education is amazing. Miss Caputto really makes me say that any parent who wishes to see their child succeed in school should try Henrietta Szoid. They have many prestigious educational establishments.
