PS 41 Greenwich Village School Reviews
I will truly miss P.S. 41 once my 4th grader graduates. The staff and all the teachers are the best!
PS 41 Greenwich Village School is the best thing that has happened to our family -- the teachers are fantastic, they really pay attention to each kid, and they take their jobs seriously. I have never come across the "teaching to the test" approach that the other poster indicates. They really engage the kids and take their progress and individual success to heart! Plus the parent body is so fun and warm and engaged.
I completely am confused by the other poster's review. PS 41 is a gem of a school, and we are so happy with the education that our children are getting. Not only are the teachers wonderful, but the environment is everything one would hope to find in an elementary school. The only negative in my opinion is the science instruction. Otherwise, it's near perfect.
This school is an example of the most destructive elements of NCLB. It teaches to testing, wasting both the students and teachers valuable time. The teachers are thoughtful, but the environment they operate in is rooted in stress. How many times have I heard a teacher say "I try to make my class fun" as if it were a cry for help. The administration of that school is kept well out of the parent's eye and seem to be handing down some stringent requirements both of student and teacher.
