PS 33 Chelsea Prep Elementary School

Anon: What this school lacks in supplies it makes up for in quality education.  Teachers are dedicated.  Principal Lindy keeps things orderly and gets great grants.  No chaos.  

Scores are equivalent or better than UES schools and this is accomplished with the handicap of having a LOT of non-native speakers.  

This is the school that should set the standard for normal, but compared to most other Dist 2 schools, it is a bright star.  

Individuals have a chance to shine, instead of being lost in the crowd.  As a parent, I always have the sense that there is a team effort going on.  

Note on rating for Facilities: PS 33 Chelsea Prep has an auditorium (stage, sloped floor for seats), gym (festooned with motivational and good health slogans), cafeteria, outdoor field, rooftop playground and street level playground.  The lower mark on Facilities is due to poor maintenance on plumbing and other physical deteriorations.
