PS 71 Forest School

Nicoleta: My son has been in PS 71 for more than 2 years,and i can say that it's a good school,the teacher is very nice,i didn't had no problems.

Pleased Parent: My son has been in PS 71 for the past three years now and I am more than pleased. Having had exposure to public schools in Manhattan and the Bronx, I find this school to be great. Their scores in comparison to others in Queens are high.
They are strict with attendance and tardiness which obviously is for the sake of your child. They value highly parent participation and offer instruction in parenting among other personal enrichment programs for parents. In terms of communication, there is plenty of notices that are sent with my son as well as automated phone calls during inclement weather, holidays or official announcements.
I am not saying the school is perfect as I too have experienced some negative situations however nothing that I was not able to overcome through communication.
Overall I give it four stars, leaving the last one for improvement- there's always room for improvement ;)

My daughter attends P.S. 71 Forest Elementary located in Ridgewood, N.Y. She is in the second grade, it has been an extreme difficult year for her attending this school. Poor Administration, No structure or positive feedback from her homeroom teacher, staff or her peers. Its the worst experience that I have had to face as a parent on a day to day basis. The lack of disrespect shown by my daughter's homeroom teacher is appauling. Negative communication towards my daughter has caused many set backs for my daughter to make any progress and further her education, not to mention it has hurt my daughter's self-esteem on a personal level. I cannot and will not recommend this school as one of the best schools of higher learning of education. The Department of Education should further investigate P.S.71 Forest Elementary and see the hidden issues and reality that is going on in this school. Certainly a new change of Administration, Teachers and Staff will make a difference at P.S. 71 Forest Elementary. I can only hope for a better outcome for this school.

my daughter is in third grade and she goes to this school i have to say that i'm not really happy in that school i think that they are really disorangniez i wish that i would move out of ridgewood and stick my daughter to a better scholl i thaink theis school should be shut down it's racist in that school too it's way boring they don't take these kids to any trips which it's not a really good school i really hate it!!

Dariana's Mom: My daughter is in this school since Kindergarten and is now graduating from fifth grade,  I have no complaints about the teaching and how things are run in this school.  It is cozy and well kept and it is a shame my daughter has to go somewhere else.  Great school and great teachers!!
