PS 239 Elementary School

DANA FAIRHURST: My daughter has been in 239 for 3 years.  She is a special education student and I feel that she is getting great help and support.  I thoroughly like this school.  My daughter looks forward to going to school and enjoys learning.  

I get the impression that other parents are not actively involved and just want to complain alot.  They want to leave it all up to the teachers and then complain when they don't like the results.

a good parent: this school can be so much better but because the lack of funding they the staff have more interest in drilling kids instead of helping them. Some staff love to teach some are there for a paycheck . i come from the old school where bake sales, snack sales, supply sales, craft sales, help funded the school a little better for activities. And this was a private school, however.... i have seen children in the school with affordable gear and i know they can afford/participate in such sales. parent involvement is another factor. lack of motivation from both staff/children/parents. from the outside beautiful from the inside all the ugly

My child goes to PS 239 in Pre-K. So far my experience has been a positive one.  Hope it stays this way or gets better as the years go by.
