Allendale Columbia School Reviews
Excellent faculty, children benefit from small classes, but there has never been a "stakeholder centric" attitude there. One attends functions and has the feeling one is somehow intruding on an "in crowd" conversation. This perpetuates the "in/out" paradigm by activating the parents' own insecurities about belonging and subsequent screwy behavior.
Terrible education for what one has to pay for. Compared to public school programs, Allendale is the same, even worse, except for the elitism and exclusivity the faculty, students, and their parents exude. Outside of their very mediocre academics, everything else is non-existent, i.e. sports and music department, along with any programs for learning disabilities, diversity, and community services.
I am the parent of 2 children that attend the lower grades at Allendale Columbia. What impresses me the most is the academic rigor that the program entails. We let our kids play at home, and Allendale Columbia takes care of giving them a solid education with no wasted time. My child is reading/writing and doing math above grade level. I highly recommend this school to any parent who can afford to send their child through a private school education. It is worth it.
