PS 53 Bay Terrace School
: P.S. 53 is a school that cares about every student and their families.   My son struggled in Kindergarten but he was nurtured by two wonderful teaches.  By late September of the following year it was apparent that my son had learning disabilities and ADHD.  The 1st grade teachers lead me down a path that I may have never realized my son needed with out them.  My son's school teachers quickly became our angels sent from heaven.  My husband and I have attended so many meetings with the principle and assistant principle, the IEP team, teachers, social worker, occupational therapist, speech therapist, etc...everyone of them cares about my son's education, health, self confidence and his progression.  This school is made up of people that care and have heart for every child's life that they encounter.  It's a community school that teaches with love.  I will sing their praises every chance I get.

This is a good school.  The principal & assisted principal are always visible. In the morning they are doing the "stop and drop" where they open your car door to let the child out. Very easy to get to them with any issues.
The teachers are wonderful. They have alot of different activities for the children as well.
