North Shore Montessori PreschoolLoving Mommy: Don't be fooled! They take your money and then leave you holding the bag. They purposely leave out information when you tour their school in order to get more money from you. And it's a LOT OF MONEY. They tell you it's all about the children, but BUYER BEWARE. It's all about them adding to their bottom line!

North Shore Montessori PreschoolBUYER BEWARE! They purposely leave out vital information when you tour their school. They will smile and tell you it's all about the children, but in actuality it's all about them adding to their bottom line. Of course you want your child to flourish and learn in an optimal environment. But you deserve to know how much money this school will cost upfront. Be careful before you sign that dotted line!

5North Shore Montessori School has been the perfect place to begin my daughter's education. They achieve a wonderful balance between academics, socialization, abstract reasoning, and creative thinking. My daughter learned to add by playing "store" and not just memorizing a series of numbers that have no practical meaning to her. Her eyes light up at the mention of her school and she looks forward to going there every day!
As an educator, I am very particular about my daughter's education. I have nothing but praise for NSMS!

5Our family moved to the area this summer and researched all the available options for our 4-year-old daughter. We finally settled on North Shore Montessori. Four months later, we are sure we made the right choice. She is flourishing there and we are very happy with the teachers and their execution of the Montessori philosophy. Have already highly recommended this school to other parents I know who have young children.

5I looked at all the local pre-schools, and I chose North Shore Montessori because of its wonderful blend of academics, great fun, social development, and the beautifully child-centered Montessori philosophy.
No pre-school should focused solely on shaping your child into an academic workhorse by age 3 or 4. Children who move through the Montessori program enter elementary school with improved confidence, social skills and a love of learning that will last them for many years.
The most important part of a school is, of course, the quality of the staff. NSMS experiences very little turnover in its teachers, and most have them have been there for 15, 20, even 25+ years. And when they hire a new teacher, which is rare, the quality is incredible.
As far as the school community, I've found that many parents are actively involved in the school, sharing their time and skills and helping out where needed. There are a number of fun events and opportunities to meet other parents, and even some very inexpensive "Kids Movie Nights" where you have a chance to bring your children in for an evening activity while you go out for dinner or a movie! Even the building is great- how many pre-schools have a full size gym? There are so many great things about this school I couldn't possibly list them here.
The school has been educating our area's children for over 40 years and is one of the absolute gems of early childhood education in a community that has very high expectations. I was very satisfied with the experience and I'm sure you will be also. This one is worth a look!
