South Woods Middle School Reviews
My child is doing great in this school. We moved from an underperforming school district where my child was having social problems and the school did not have the resources to help him as their resources were dedicated to getting kids to pass the state competency tests. At Southwoods they are putting they are able to put resources to try to ensure they every child excels, not just meets the minimum standards. The school has a zero tolerance for bullying and I have seen it strictly and consistently enforced.
While my son was at this school, he was mentally, physically, and emotionally abused by his classmates, in school and on the school bus. This went on for months, before the pediatrician siscovered it. His whole body was covered with bruises- it was so awful to see his young body carpeted with bruises... This has affected his whole life and his future. When I informed the school, they kept quiet. He was home schooled, and went to a private school. Later he came back to the high school, when the emotional and mental abuse went on; he became sick and had to be transferred to Boces.
