Foxfire Elementary School is a small school which is very family oriented. The principal, Mr. Jim Colassaco, it's teachers, and other support staff's main goal is to help the students achieve and believe that they can and will do better. While it is lacking in a guidance counselor and certain other additional support staff, the school does have a school psychologist. Also the principal himself is like a one man army and is very good at it. He is a friendly man (greeting every parent, staff worker, and child on a daily basis). He is also very fair with his staff and always has the child's best interest as a top priority. Which in turn helps his teachers and make his staff want to work harder. That in turn encourages the students to work harder. While there are some problem children (behavior and academic), the classes are small. This makes working with those special needs children easier to help and gives the teacher more time to provide one on one and small group instruction. Overall most of the kinks are lack of funding (which is a problem in schools throughout our nation, sadly), lack of school staff such as AP and guidance, and over caring (if that can be a problem). On the positive side the school is child friendly, family oriented, well run, very caring, and has small class sizes. Out of 5 stars I would rate the school 4 out 5 only for the things, like funding, which can't be changed without government and district support.
