Brightwood Elementary School Reviews
My son started attending Brightwood in 3rd grade, and currently he is in the 4th grade. I feel that Brightwood is an excellent school. I greatly appreciate how the staff take the time to schedule meetings with the parents to ensure that we are involved with our child(ren) learning process (i.e. T10-T15 Calculator, learning about the EOG process, guidelines to follow to help our child during EOG test, etc.). My son has attended two other schools where I do not recall those type of meetings existed. I feel that my child recognizes the difference, and I have seen such a significant improvement in his behavor and willingness to do his homework this year.
I am impressed with the principal, Mrs. Mayhew, for leading a great staff and being open to parent/staff ideas and concerns. She is always friendly and very courteous. The compassion of the entire staff is very visible. I am particularly impress with the effort the 4th grade teachers are putting forward to help send their classes to the North Carolina Outer Banks field trip this school year.
Sure, there can be improvements but overall I think from what I've witnessed thus far, the school is doing a fantastic job. I pray that God continue to bless the principal, staff and students.
