Calvary Christian Academy Reviews
For any good parent, that is all that needs to be said. However for the "other" parents, I will elaborate. I liked what I saw online and what I heard over the phone. So I go and view the school and meet the staff, by the way every parents dream school. Small facility, one classroom for all students (about 20 or so, k-12), lots of one-on-one attention availability with teachers. They definitely implement the "work at ur own pace'' and ''no child left behind ''policies. Yes it is Christian based but not like nuns walking around with big white winged hats, they have one verse to learn with every section in the subject, and the verse is out of the bible but it is about virtue, self worth, honesty, morals and principles, character building verses. And lets face it what kid now days couldn't use that. I was falling in love with the school...Then I smashed into a brick wall. He said "We Do believe in CORPAROL PUNISHMENT here''. There permission form for you to sign says, ''1-They will discuss the incident with ur child, then tell them the Scriptural principles and pray with ur child. Then a reasonable number of firm strokes with a wooden paddle will be performed. If ur child resist, u get called to the school about possible withdrawal from the school. After the ''Paddling'' they pray with ur child and assure him/her of their love. (nothing like saying, '' Yes I just beat u, but I love ya, now help me pray to god for forgiveness!''), and then they send a note home telling you what they done. Now, don't get me wrong I have spanked my childrenbefore when the offence is severe enough, but never with anything but my hand. And I think that there are lots of kids out there today that need a good,'' ole fashion'' Butt whoopen. But I think that that is something that only the parents need to perform. And no school should have the right to take that action into their own hands, or take any kind of physical action against a child. I would never give a school my permission the take any physical action against my child, I am the only one that has that right! So I say,'' Enter at your own risk...no not to you! To your Children!!!" FYI...I would have gave it ''NO STARS" but it wouldn't let me.
