Legette Blythe Elementary School

Helen Bennett: To Whom It May Concern:
I visited your school today for the Veteran's Day Program. The
program was right on target. The children's behavior was extra
good. This was the third time I've visited your school and never have I felt welcomed there at Blythe. I traveled 100 miles to witness the program with my husband, who is a vet. I wanted to say hello to my granddaughter after the program, but was told by the office that I could not go to her classroom because the children were back at work. I taught school for 37 years and we always made our visitors welcome because that was part of our mission for the community. I  understand the importance of safety for the children, but I was there with my visitor's badge. I saw other folk just going to the classes to visit, but I tried to follow protocol. Since my husband was at the reception, he was told he could go visit our granddaughter by the same person who told me I could not. Consistency should be a part of your safety precautions.
