Silverdale Elementary School Reviews
My child just started Kindergarten this year at silverdale. This is a horrible school and the I have had nothing but problems when dealing with the staff and with the education my daughter has been getting. My daughter has also experienced numerous problems on the bus. My daughter has come home several times without her homework to do and she has also been sent home several times with other childrens school work and papers that dont belong to her. Her teachers do not consider that she is special needs and has ADHD when assessing her in class also. When I tried to set it up so she could get her meds at school it was ridiculous! The nurse was at another school and they didnt want to get in touch with her to get the paperwork done so my child could get her meds. They told me she would just have to go without them that day. I have to push to get them to call the nurse and fax the forms. I didn't feel as though I should have had to ASK them to do that or that it was acceptable for my child to go without her meds. She has been bullied over and over on the bus. Everytime I contacted the AP he would tell me that the child I was trying to report couldn't be found on that bus listing. Which seemed to be code for " I don't feel like calling the other childs parents". Everytime I have asked for the bus tapes to be viewed I get the run around and no returned calls. I have to push to get them to do anything. I even asked them to put a monitor on the bus and they told me they didn't have the funds for that. Every time I call about these problems it takes forever for the staff to call me back. And the people at the Board of Education are even more lazy. My childs education and safety is very important to me but it is obvious to me that the staff doesn't really care.
