The town of Morganton is a beautiful community in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains. The climate is very moderate and there is a plethora of outdoor activities, even a Zipline in town.
Freedom High School is the closest school to downtown. It located right of the Greenway, which is a four mile recreational pedestrian/bike path alson the Catwaba River. Hence, the school is actually accessible by bike from many residential areas.
The school offers a full range of academic and vocational programs, including a humanities program, for high achieving university bound students. It has a very high ranking, nationally. Most teachers are very dedicated and caring. In sports, the Patriots are also highly recognized.
