Carter Vocational High School Reviews
I would like to commend Principal Donna Horton and her staff for a beautiful 2012 Graduation Ceremony.
Student speeches were excellent and demonstrated the skills learned by the graduates. Principal Horton spoke to the graduating class and their parents and families with love, caring, and dignity. Encouraging words were spoken to the students by Mrs. Parker, WS/FC School Board. Sam Dempsey, Director of WS/FC Exceptional Childrens Program was in attendance , as always, supporting the school. I especially liked the graphic pictures of the teachers and administrators of the past years for whom student awards were given. The speaker to the Class of 2012, Mr. Redd, a graduate of South Park High School ( Now Carter High School) was so inspiring. Mr. Redd graduated, attended Auburn University and played on the Auburn University Basketball Team with Charles Barkley. Just last year, he was inducted into the Forsyth County Sports Hall of Fame. His heartwarming speech thanked the school staff for their instruction, support and encouragement. He challenged the students to strive for success. He is an outstanding citizen of this community and a shining example of what South Park High School, the pride of its originator C. Douglas Carter in 1971, has accomplished over the years and how it continues to promote love and academic excellence through Principal Horton and her fine staff today. I salute the graduating Class of 2012 Carter High School and the staff.
when i first went there i felt family cause the teachers showed respect and the hole carter family was increadible. we learned alot. and there was alot to do just to get my diploma. but i have it cause of their help. but i really miss the camping trips, special olympics, sports, and other things provided. and working at wake forest university. Thank You Carter Family for the big help the past years 2001-2006
This high school is entirely devoted to special needs students aka special ed. The administration makes a good effort to approximate the "so-called" regular high school experience, while provided curriculum and activities adapted for the needs of the student population. It's staff is dedicated to the students and ensures the best possible opportunities for learning.
