About This School
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. Horizon Science Academy-Dayton Reviews
This school is only for the teachers. I see alot of stereo typing going on at this school. If a child is being bullied they don't just confront the bully; the child that is being bullied also becomes ridiculed and made to look like a threat to the school for defending themself. I've done parent monitoring, and I have heard teachers yelling at students in a disrespectful manner. They show favoritism towards the turkish students verses other students by allowing them to skip school, and break school rules by wearing coats, and take plenty of restroom breaks when they are only allowed four restroom passes per quarter. When the pricipal or dean of students are confronted with a problem your child is having with a teacher; they will say the teacher has done nothing wrong, and make it seem as if your child is nothing but a problem. My family is not from dayton schools, and I have never felt like my child was not safe while at school until I put them in this school. Kids are wrongfully expelled, and the teachers don't practice giving respect to get it. The teachers do what they want behind these closed doors to your children and then sugar coat things to the parent. I would not recommend this charter school to anyone. I was warned, I gave it a try, and I have nothing but regrets.
Teachers are rude and do not challenge students. Fights all the time.
