About the OAT
What is it?
The Ohio Achievement Test is an annual test used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students in grades 3 through 8 are assessed in reading and math, students in grades 4 and 7 are assessed in writing, and students in grades 5 and 8 are assessed in science and social studies.
How is it Scored?
Students are rated at one of five levels: advanced, accelerated, proficient, basic or limited. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.
