We're not perfect, but then nothing is. I sometimes think that all my criticisms are grounded in the fact that I've never gone anywhere else. They have gone above and beyond the call of duty in meeting my needs as a gifted student. Because of their efforts, I know what I need to know to make MIT a serious possibility for me. We have a very diverse student body, which I like very much; there's no room for racism here. We have strong school spirit and little or no of the brutal cliquing and such normally associated with high school, although I can't say the same for student sexuality. We have lots of sports teams and clubs--my legs are aching from yesterday's track practice right now. This is a great school. Oh, and I don't know what it is, but the girls that go here always seem to be a lot more attractive than the ones I see in other schools around here.

The administrators, teachers, and staff are committed to excellence and are very good at making sure the kids are too. The school faces so many challenges -- a very diverse student body, diminishing state funding, open-minded but strongly tax-averse voters, and an exploding population (due to a pre-Recession housing boom which the Board was powerless to prevent). Yet the LHHS principal, teachers and staff strive mightily to see to it that all students, from the most academically challeneged to the most gifted, get the best possible shot at realizing their potential. The district spends far less per student than many nearby districts, but they do SO MUCH with their limited resources that I feel the community is getting a real bargain.
