About This School
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. See Alternative Education Academy's test results to learn more about school performance.

Alternative Education Academy Reviews
My youngest son was having some issues with a child in his class and cried every day that he had to go to school. As a result, my husband and I decided to look at other options and chose to enroll both of our sons in an online distance learning program. We chose OHDELA (also know as Alternative Education Academy) and have been very happy with our choice. OHDELA offers live instruction with knowledgeable teachers, flexible scheduling, field trips, a free outreach and tutoring program, and they reimburse us for all of our educational materials, supplies, and even internet. OHDELA also offers reimbursement for extracurricular activities. OHDELA has been a godsend!
Our school provides an alternate choice to the traditional school setting and provides live online sessions, teacher created lessons, and individual support for all learners. The teachers are friendly and helpful. Students have an opportunity to meet their teachers at open houses, field trips, Reading, math and science days, and at weekly small group activity sessions. It is fun to work together at our school.
