Bodine Elementary School Reviews
I am a Volunteer, a Grandma, raised 2-generations, so believe me when I say...the Teachers at this school REALLY care about these children, and especially after some major changes...HOWEVER, Teacher's need Parent's support... there is no doubt that these Parents LOVE their children BUT these Parents need to LISTEN more to the Teachers as they want to help your children... OR they wouldn't be Teachers at THIS school! Teach your children to RESPECT their Teacher, (wandering/lost children are most likely disobedient children). So Parents and Grandparents, GO get a background-check... and COME volunteer where you can...if you don't have the time... learn how many kids are in your child's class and send in prizes and or supplies to the class...or snacks for the Teacher...a THANK you card to the Teacher once in a while goes a long way...it's uplifting, encouraging and SHOWS your child that his/her Teacher MATTERS. FYI: The key to Private Schools success is...the PARENTS!! They interview the Parent before they ACCEPT the child...think about it...this school needs Parent support!!!
I LOVE TEACHING AT BODINE!!!!! We have quality teachers who care and are willing to stay after school to work with your child. There are a few parents who are supportive. The best advice I can give to parents who come up to school, raising holy Hades is to remember this: acceptable behavior in your home does not mean it is acceptable behavior at school. Please teach your child the difference. Work with us so we can help your child become successful in life. We need your help and cooperation! Believe in us for we believe in your child.
The 2012-13 school year was rough at first but the teachers were awesome through all the turbulence that we had! We "lost" our first principal but had an assistant principal who was simply terrific! Thanks to her, our school turned around and started looking up and doing much, much better!!! It just goes to show that leadership starts at the top and not in the middle. My children thrived this school year and I would not consider sending them to any other school. Bodine is GREAT! I invite parents to get involved and stop knocking Bodine. The school is only as good as its parents.
I taught here several years ago and left after 5 years because of the lack of support from parents and the lack of support from administration for teachers who are trying to help these children. There have been several improvements to the structure since then and more are slated to occur. The administration is also different and seems to want to make a difference. A school is only as good (or bad) as the parents who support (or don't) it's teachers, policies and their own children.
My 6 year old went to this school and they LOST him 3 times in a month, putting him on the wronv bus, letting him run around the school alone and dropping him off at the wrong stop,we found him after calling the police.DONT LET YOUR CHILD GO TO SCHOOL HERE!
This is not a good learning enviornment. The techers treat the kids like a bother. When you tour the school during class room hours you will actually hear the teacbers yelling at the students. Avoid this school like the flu.
