Rosa Parks Elementary School

Billie Heron: Last Friday I waited for my grandson after school.  I was accosted by a man who rudely challenged me on several matters.  He needed only to point out the rules and I would have complied. Before I could  respond, he turned his back on me and yelled out , pointing to a child who looked to be 7 or 8,  "What are you doing here?" he demanded.  I could see the boy's face fall and his anxiety level heighten off the charts.  "I didn't do nothin'," the child defended.  He continued to bully the boy until he was certain the boy was not breaking any rules.  Then, of course, he did not apologize to that boy.  He turned to a second then a third child and started barking orders and accusing them of breaking rules.  He showed no respect for the children nor for me.  

There are ways of corrected children without destroying their dignity and humiliating them in front of their peers.  How can children develope any self respect around such adult bullies who misuse their authority to harrass and terrify them?
