Free Orchards Elementary School Reviews
Beyond fustrated with the lack of communication from the school to the parents. The morning drop off location was changed the last month of school and parents were notified 4 days later. My son had a severe bloody nose, and I was not informed until I picked him up at the end of the day, with blood stains all down his shirt. The parking is terrible! The school allows parking in the fire zones, which does not allow the people who actually park legally to get out of their parking spots. When I confronted the school, they told me it was my problem and to call the police myself.
Free Orchards is generally a great school with great staff! However carline before and after school are a nightmare and that would be because the parents have no understanding of what PULL FORWARD mean!
My daughter has been going here since last year when she was in first grade and we both have really enjoyed this school and her teachers. This year my son is attending Kindergarten there. I am very unhappy with the Kindergarten. There is no recess, there is no arts/crafts, and the children seem so bored. One teacher, his, is very strict and gets on the kids for the littlest things, which I think is because they are so bored with the curriculum. I understood you go to school to learn, but this is Kindergarten. It should be a little more enjoyable.
So far I am a little concerned. It seems that the Kindergarten teachers are slightly unorganized. Pick up times changed with no notice the first day of school and on the second they boarded my daughter on a bus when she is a "walker". It took 15 minutes to get her off of it. Supposedly there was a sheet that I had to fill out to warn teachers that I will be picking her up after school meaning no bus, but I never knew about that sheet. Several parents even had their childs name on it and yet their kid was still put on the bus. We were assured that in a few days it would all be ironed out. My heart did skip a beat or two. I don't think that I will be so understanding if this happens again.
It is a wonderful school. I love it and the teachers are great
