Cesar Chavez Elementary School
dzani27: Our school in our old neighborhood shut down. So we moved to a new neighborhood where this is our school. My son really enjoys it there. He finds it academically okay. He comments a lot that he is relearning things from the previous year. His teacher never remembers me despite the fact that we have met on several occasions and I volunteer sometimes. I find this a bit annoying but she has a lot of parents to remember so I will let it go. My daughter on the other hand got stuck in a room full of kids with behavior issues. Not all of the kids but definitely the majority. She has been bullied, and treated so badly that I have decided to homeschool her. She was constantly unhappy there and it was causing problems at home. The teachers at this school are educated, competent, and caring. They really are doing all they can with no budget and the school district constantly on their backs to do more with nothing. This school is also very much into nutrition and feeding the kids healthy meals and snacks which we were all for. We do love this school despite some of the things we have been through. It is a good community oriented school and we would recommend it.
