My children entered this school with good thoughts and ambitions only to find that when I did a comparison to an online school, the mark falls incredibly short. The writing of essays is simply not there. Grammar and punctuation is not the goal (I did not see the writing samples, I did not see the corrected course of action for both children to revise). Reading, comprehension, and writing a simple paragraphs and reports about what is learned seems like the parents responsibility (I agree if only they sent a failing mark and suggested a corrective course of action). If a student can not read or write effectively, then everything was a waste. If Math was bad, then why not send home more homework on the subject? Parent-Teacher communication is amiss when education is involved. Parent-Teacher communication is great when there is an issue about behavior. Behavioral issues happen when a student falls behind and teachers do not listen and take action. Bully action happens in all schools, compound the way all things happen at the school, what do we have? A student that falls below the expected OAKS testing. I am happy for the other reviewers, I had a bad experience and hope that anyone that attends this school will have a great experience. Once I switched to online schooling which is one year later, it is night and day. The curriculum is very much harder, the payoff is that if my children were in that school today, they would have to go a grade ahead. Grade 5 for Mooberry and Grade 5 for an online school are very different in standards.

Melinda: Love Mooberry. Highly educated staff, involved parents and happy kids.

My sons and I have had a positive experience at Mooberry.  I was apprehensive when we first moved into the area because of what I had heard.  Then after the first few weeks, my worries disappeared.  The teachers were friendly and genuinely concerned about my boys and their learning.  They were challenged in all areas and felt safe at school.  They did have an issue or two at recess during that first week but both were resolved to their satisfaction by the duty teacher or by working it out with the other child.

First of all, they only received a satisfactory rating this year alone (they only just now got out of a troubled list). 2nd, if you look to another schools curriculum (like Jackson) you will see a huge difference. They actually fall well below standards other than attendance and having children taking the OAKS test. I have to question why this school was even given a 5 out of 10 in their review alone. Online public schools use a curriculum that is standardized and make this school look like the children are a year or more behind. That is why I had to withdraw my children.
