CSS uses the Storyline method for teaching all grades (K-8) http://www.storyline.org/history/whyitmakessense.html
It builds on the idea that learning, to be meaningful, has to be memorable, and that by using learner's enthusiasm you can transform the students/classroom. It also follows the constructivist/Piaget method.

In the classroom, the constructivist view of learning can point towards a number of different teaching practices. In the most general sense, it usually means encouraging students to use active techniques (experiments, real-world problem solving) to create more knowledge and then to reflect on and talk about what they are doing and how their understanding is changing.
The students are acively engaged in learning and in our experience love the feeling of "owning" what they are learning.
The teachers and staff are great, the parent community is actively involved, we have a strong PTA and great after school programs!
