Rosa Parks Elementary School Reviews

Last Friday I waited for my grandson after school.  I was accosted by a man who rudely challenged me on several matters.  He needed only to point out the rules and I would have complied. Before I could  respond, he turned his back on me and yelled out , pointing to a child who looked to be 7 or 8,  "What are you doing here?" he demanded.  I could see the boy's face fall and his anxiety level heighten off the charts.  "I didn't do nothin'," the child defended.  He continued to bully the boy until he was certain the boy was not breaking any rules.  Then, of course, he did not apologize to that boy.  He turned to a second then a third child and started barking orders and accusing them of breaking rules.  He showed no respect for the children nor for me.

There are ways of corrected children without destroying their dignity and humiliating them in front of their peers.  How can children develope any self respect around such adult bullies who misuse their authority to harrass and terrify them?

I have a now 4th grader at Rosa Parks and I fear for my child at Rosa Parks school, there is bullying going on in the class rooms as well as the play ground. the teachers and administration turn a blind eye to children that need help coping with bullies...  when my child told me about feelings and fears I went to the teacher and then administration. nothing was done to help my child feel safe... the lack of professionalism was mouth dropping, I could not believe the welcome I got... the leadership in the school needs to be regrouped.  Rosa Parks school can be a good school if the leadership was safe support.. is there a way to restaff the school for fresh new ideas with teachers and administration that care for the children.. leaving children in the hands of that staff is not a safe approach..
