The center in Philadelphia is a joke. What a mess! If you care about your child, please don't send them to this place. It is dangerous and overrun with problem students.

mrsncook: Excellent teachers, but HORRIBLE tech support!
When we received our laptop, it wasn't working properly. My husband eventually figured out it didn't have virus protection. I don't know why it wasn't set up properly and ready when we got it.
Tech support agents have no idea what's going on. They can't answer simple questions. Tech support did a back up, making their system unusable during busy school hours when they could have scheduled it for a slower time. Kmail, their internal email, doesn't work consistently. Their system is down some days, not allowing access to the school. Tech support should be one of the most important things for a cyber school, and it is almost completely useless.
Teachers are wonderful and are always helpful. Unfortunately they cannot fix all of the problems with tech support. When you try to call the school, you have long lists of automated options and have a hard time reaching a live person. When you reach a live person, sometimes they have no idea what's going on. Getting good help is almost impossible.
I would NOT recommend this school to anyone.
I would NOT use this school again.
I am committed to finishing out the year with my daughter, but she's suffering due to not being able to work every day when their system doesn't work. Sadly, I might have to look elsewhere for a better cyber school.

CFitzgerald9105: I wasn't sure what to expect when my son started at Agora in Kindergarten. My son has ADHD and was diagnosed with high functioning Asperger's. I was very impressed with the care and attention they gave my son (as well as our family) during the school year. The staff at Agora make the students feel like they are part of a family. Our questions are always answered and we have more than enough support! I would highly recommend Agora over any other school out there!

ejsmom: The curriculum is wonderful, most of the teachers, especially special education teachers were fantastic. The therapy services for special needs children are top notch. However, we left the school due to disorganization, inflexibility, and a sense of the right hand not talking to the left.

mmarx: the administration is horrible, their learning center is a mecca of disfunction the kids are unruly and are allowed to do what they want and dress how they want. Administration does not address issues immediatley it take numerous calls and threats of filing complaints to get their attention.

May sound weird- But I'm actually a student-currently in middle school while my elder brother is in his last year(12th) in Agora. I find it wonderful, the teachers (for subjects) are very friendly and understanding- and hold live sessions for lessons and mentor meetings. Kids can work at their own pace (either fast or slow), and it's a great way to advance. I'm already doing Algebra 1 (the same as my elder brother which is quiet funny), while most my age is on pre-algebra. It's easy for both us (as kids) and for parents. I highly recommend it.
