Warren L Miller Elementary School Reviews
Not impressed at all.
If you asked me last year, I would've given this school an easy 4 and maybe even 5. I have 2 children in this school, now in 6th and 3rd grade. My 6th grader excels pretty easily but my 3rd grader has to work for everything she gets. Things that come easily to most children, are difficult for her. We've been lucky enough to have teachers to help her get to where she needs to be each year (with the help of mom, of course). This year is completely different. My 3rd grader has had 4 different teachers because her actual teacher won't be in until January - that will make 5 teachers in the first half of the school year. I understand this is not the norm, but my daughter is completely being "left behind" due to all these changes. She's forgetting how to do the most basic things in Math because there is NO consistency at all. My daughter is not an easy cookie cutter kid and I know this, I'm her mother for damn's sake. She doesn't have behavioral problems or a learning disability to cause her to be in special classes or anything like that...she just doesn't "get" things right away. If she doesn't get it the way it's being taught, it may be a clue to try something different. Just a thought. I respect what teachers do and I support them at home as well, but it's getting really hard for me to cope and I'm becoming VERY BITTER. Obviously. I'm writing on a random review site that no one will probably ever see. The current teacher has not followed school policies for the most basic things - like Parent correspondence, discipline, and overall guidelines. How is she even still there? Each teacher my daughter has had, has had a serious problem in one way or another. Are they even screening these people? Maybe a behavioral assessment needs to be done or at least don't hire people with no experience other than being fresh out of school. I'm completely done and don't even want my daughter in this school at this point. Unfortunately, I live in this district and HAVE to deal with this due to not being able to "swing" a private school. As soon as I'm in a position to do this for my children, I will. I work hard everyday and am always pushing for something bigger and better to improve our life style. We've came a long way and will continue to do so. As soon as Private school is a monetary option - my honor roll son and struggling daughter are the hell out of Warren L Miller Elementary. Mark my words.
the school district never returns calls and won't accommodate the students if there is a transportation issue. What about the no child left behind. My child is being left behind.
