Maria: Playschool is more than just a pre-school.  It is a world that is centered around the children who are in it.  When you enter a classroom at Playschool you can definitely tell you are in their world now.  The children who come out of Playschool not only learn their abc's, 123's and "please  & thank you's; they learn social skills and how to deal with situations in life that some adults I know still have not perfected.  One other selling point, for our family at least, was the yard the children get to play in.  It is roughly 3 acres of fun and is not like ANY playground around!  Along with the usual playground equipment; swings, slides, sand box, etc... you will also find a zip line (a favorite of most kids), a motorcycle dug into the ground so the kids can pretend to drive it, a jeep (also a permanent fixture), a pirate ship, and many more.  All of this plus acres of woods for the kids to explore in.  My son will graduate from Playschool this year, but I am sure the lessons he learned and fun he had here will last forever.

In Charlestown Playhouse (“Playschool”) I have found exceptional people to teach, play with, and love my son. What makes a great preschool, really? You can have all the best materials and latest play and teaching tools, and teachers with multiple degrees each, but in the end it’s about how the director, teachers, and support staff use their talents and love for children to create the safe nurturing environment needed for any learning.  Playschool has that nailed. They get young children – they understand where they are coming from and how to help them solve problems.  Kids leave Playschool learning how to negotiate tricky social situations that I’d bet the contents of my wallet most adults haven’t yet mastered (including this mom!). And all that messy stuff you feel badly about not doing for your own kids at home to encourage their creativity?  The answer is Playschool! We are in our third year and I look forward to sending my youngest child through each class, too.

Charlestown Playhouse is by far the best preschool and kindergarten in the area. Their play-based learning environment is fantastic - it's diverse, thorough and provides each child with a learning environment specific to their needs. I am very grateful for the experience my 3 children have had at this school.
