About This School
The mission of the Renaissance Academy Charter School is to prepare a diverse cross-section of children for success as students, workers and citizens by providing them with a high quality liberal arts, college preparatory education through creation of a school where high standards, creativity, technological sophistication, high motivation and accountability are the norm. The school aims to achieve lasting gains in students’ academic performance.
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. Renaissance Academy Charter School Reviews
My older son graduated from RA last year. He began attending when it opened. He loved it and is doing wonderful at college. He had many experiences unique to the RA such as visiting Costa Rica. My younger son, a tenth grader, has been enrolled since kindergarten. They have both received wonderful educations and are advanced with their academics. The sports teams and extra curricular activites have grown and improved through the years. The school is small, graduating classes are about 75, but the school provides wonderful opportunities.
