Good school if you are from the area. Otherwise, you are an unwelcome outsider. Their claim to an open-door policy is lip-service. Parental involvement is implicitly discouraged via their thinly-veiled animosity towards them. The small handful of truly kind and welcoming teachers serve as stark contrast to the norm. If you are an outsider, you (and unfortunately your children) will pay for encroaching on their territory.

West End Elementary School
Great environment if you are from this area. Otherwise, you are an unwelcome outsider and are treated as such. School claims to have an open-door policy, but couldn't be further from the truth. Input from parents is discouraged and staff makes it perfectly clear that parents are an annoyance. There is a small handful of teachers who are genuinely kind and accepting, but they stand out as the exception to the rule.
