we enjoy AAE
I find AAE to be an excellent school.... my son just started and we are working on him to enjoy school better... he had a lot of bullying and other things happening to him when he was younger... I am so glad we found the school. It's just taking him some time to get use to school again, I had him in home school for 3 yrs. so he is trying to get to know others and know that he is safe there at AAE.
I feel its a great school for a lot of reasons... and the staff is great. They will work with your child, I have never seen a school do that.
AAE is an amazing school, I would definitely recommend coming here!
I LOVE AAE, we're all like one big family. The teachers are all very kind and helpful, you get a lot of one-on-one if you need it, and they work at the pace you need. They believe every student can learn, and they don't give up on teaching slow learners, they stay with them. The food is well balanced and it tastes awesome, too!! On Fridays if the highschoolers behave (and if a paper was signed allowing it,) they are allowed to go off campus for lunch. They are also allowed to dress down for $2 on Fridays. It's small, so it's good for people with social anxiety like me, and it also means that they keep a closer eye on the students, so there is no chance of bullying. It's cheaper than Clarksville Academy, and just as good in my eyes.
Glad to see after reading the other reviews posted by parents that this school was finally able to get on track. This was by far the worst school in Clarksville at one time. The staff was corrupt; my parents thought this school would help my sister and I accelerate. However, this school turned out to be recess all day every day.
CMCSS (public school) is anti-special ed. AAE is pro-special ed. The school was a God-send for our student. Public school administrators wanted to blame the child for everything. Public school cookie-cutter approach to education will only doom most special needs children to failure and ridicule. If you care about your child, you should check out AAE. They care about the child and help them learn in ways the public school system either does not know how to do or because it requires effort and refuses to do. Call AAE before your child becomes a public school statistic.
The school is a great school and they really care about the children's education. My son attends there because of the horrendous special education that is provided by the Montgomery County Schools System. Please give AAE a chance by taking a tour before enrolling your special needs child/children or any child for that case before you enroll them into the trashy MCSS.
AAE is a wonderful school. They have different tracks for students with different needs. The school strives to bring out the best in each student without placing limitations on the students. They have worked miracles with some of the more severely disabled children in their school. Our daughter is autistic and has been attending AAE since kindergarten and she has flourished. They have addressed not only her academic needs but also her social ones as well. I would highly recommend AAE to any parent considering private school placement for their child. AAE provides regular education as well as special education. Sometimes kids need a little extra attention or effort for them to really be successful in school and this is a place where they can get that. It can be the difference between a child going to college and realizing their dreams or feeling like they aren't good enough or smart enough to go to college.
We have two special needs students attending AAE. The staff and teachers are well trained and the school as a whole presents a welcoming, homelike atmosphere. Parents are welcomed into the school and their input about their children is taken seriously. This is a great place for any child to receive an education and all schools should be modeled after this one.
